High street retailers and department stores, including book shops, electronics retailers, tailors, auction houses, photography studios, indoor markets and shops selling clothes, shoes and toys, have now re-opened their doors following the COVID-19 secure guidelines set out by the Government in May.
Employers should also display a notice visibly in their shop windows or outside their store to show their employees, customers and other visitors that they have followed the guidance.

MHDC has now opened its Discretionary Grant Scheme. This is aimed at certain small businesses who were not eligible for the Small Business Grant Fund or the Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Fund, and which have relatively high ongoing, fixed property-related costs, and which can demonstrate that they have suffered a significant fall in income due to the COVID-19 crisis. Businesses who have applied for the Self Employment Income Support Scheme and Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme are eligible to apply for this scheme. If you have a business rates account you should apply for the small business grant or retail, hospitality or leisure grant instead here.
We have put together a policy to help us distribute this money in the fairest way possible and to help us support as many businesses as possible. Unfortunately, the money will not be enough to help every single business that does not qualify for the two main grants.
Please ensure you have read the guidance before completing the application form.
To apply for this grant, please click here to fill out an application form. The deadline for applications is 5pm on 26 June 2020.
The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a voucher-based scheme that provides support towards the up-front costs of the purchase and installation of electric vehicle charge-points, for eligible businesses, charities and public sector organisations.

At a time where we can’t visit some of our favourite places, Visit Worcestershire wants to remind us and celebrate all things Worcestershire - from our food, to our amazing Countryside as well as our heritage and culture. So, we are asking – what’s your #myworcestershire?
Their photo competition will be celebrating all aspects of our fabulous County and we think Malvern Hills as plenty to offer. It will be running weekly, with a new category each week. At the end of the 5 weeks, our weekly winners will be put into a prize draw to win a hamper of local goodies and tickets to the West Midlands Safari Park (more prizes to be added!). So why not start getting creative (or nostalgic) and start planning your entries.
